Amazon Prime was first launched on 25th July 2015, honoring the 20th birthday of the e-commerce titan. They claimed that Amazon Prime’s “offering more deals than Black Friday.” That statement itself is enough to make buyers excited days or even weeks before the annual sale takes place.

In 2017, Amazon announced that Amazon Prime would be held on Tuesday, July 11. The annual online sale starts from 06:00 PM PST on July 10th and lasts throughout July 11th until 11:59 PM PST. The event will last for 30 hours and feature 2 types of discount: regular discount and lightning deals.

Regular discount is a specific discount applied only on Amazon Prime Day on almost every item. Meanwhile lightning deals is a specific discount applied to selected items (mainly tech items) and limited to specific amount of items. Some of the items included in Amazon’s lightning deals are Echo Dot (from $49.99 discounted to $34.99), Samsung Galaxy S8 64 GB Unlocked Phone with 2017 Gear VR W/Controller and Wireless Fast Charging Stand (from $887.54 discounted to $624.99), Kodak PIXPRO Astro Zoom AZ251 (from $126.90 discounted to $99.72), and Keurig K55 Brewer (from $118.77 discounted to $69.99), Samsung U28E5900D 28-Inch LED Monitor (from $399.99 discounted to $279.99). Gosh, I’m so drooling over that phone.

However, Amazon is being kind on its birthday and decides to give you a free trial to a prime account. And good news to you students that have a .edu address, you can get 50% off the registration free with Student Prime Membership.
