Dolce and Gabbana Releases (Pricey) Pasta Line

Dolce and Gabbana sure can design anything. Months after they teamed up with SMEG to launch a line of kitchen appliances, the designer house recently collaborated with Pastificio Di Martino for a line of pasta that came just in time for the holiday season.

You’d better prepare $110 if you’re interested in buying one D&G pasta package, which will also include a limited edition of tin box along with a D&G-designed apron. The pasta comes in three shapes: spaghetti, paccheri and penne mezzani rigate.

The product, which is marketed with the tagline “La Famiglia, La Pasta, e L’Italia” (means Family, Pasta and Italy in English), is available for sale in Pasta di Martino’s stores in Naples and Bologna. If you have no plan to make a trip to those cities, then you can purchase it online at dimartinodolcegabbana.com. But you’d have to be quick, because there’s only 5,000 tins available with 1,000 of them being sold in the United States.

Dolce and Gabbana is no stranger to bringing fancy stuff to your kitchen. Prior to this, they worked with Italy’s home appliances company SMEG to create Southern Italy and Sicilian folklore-inspired design for toasters, citrus juicer, coffee machines, kettles and more.
