“Justice League” Is DCEU’s Biggest Failure So Far

The DCEU isn’t getting better with the release of “Justice League”. Despite being star-studded, the film fails to impress both critics and viewers – and subsequently logged the lowest opening for any DCEU films with only $96 million in North America this weekend.
That number is a huge disappointment, considering he fact that some of the world’s biggest stars including Gal Gadot, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams and Jason Momoa are featured in the “Avengers”-styled superhero flick.
Joss Whedon, who contributed to the massive success of Marvel’s “Avengers” and was then hired following director Zack Snyder’s exit, couldn’t save the Warner Bros. film either. While the $96 million it earned in its first week was enough for the movie to top the domestic box office, it still has to collect more to cover the $400 million it spent on production and marketing. Fortunately, the film did better overseas as it added more than $180 from several countries around the globe.
“Justice League” is the fifth film in the DCEU,following “Man of Steel”, “Batman v Superman”, “Suicide Squad” and the most recent “Wonder Woman” that opened with $116.6 million, $166 million, $133.6 million and $103.25 million in their respective first weeks.
Out of those titles, “Wonder Woman” was the only one that could be considered a success both commercially and critically. The Patty Jenkins-directed movie, which came out just a few months ago, was even named one of the best superhero pics of all time. Gal Gadot instantly shot into superstardom after playing the titular character.
Have you watched “Justice League”? If you have, what do you think of it? Does it deserve to earn more love from critics, or is it really overrated? Share your comment in the comment section below.

To me, all these super hero films are the same, actors wearing different costumes while doing the same ‘super stunts’ which are heavily reliant on computer graphics. Wouldn’t it be great if film companies produced films like the long gone, golden age of Hollywood I fondly remember.

DCEU deserves and needs supreme quality and energy. I see three ways to turn things around: (1) George Miller; (2) George Miller; or (3) George Miller.
