It looks like the next iPhones will realy go wireless. A manufacturer of the devices has seemingly confirmed that the phones would be both waterproof and feature wireless charging.
“Assembly process for the previous generations of [iPhones] have not changed much,” Robert Hwang, the CEO of manufacturer Wistron Corp, told the Nikkei Asian Review. “Though new features like waterproof and wireless charging now require some different testing, and waterproof function will alter the assembly process a bit.”
This may not our first time hearing that Apple is planning wireless charging for its upcoming iPhones. Rumors have been swirling for months now that iPhone 8 might come with the feature. However, this is definitely our first time learning the news straight from an iPhone manufacturer.
As for the waterproof feature, Apple is apparently planning phones that are more than just water-resistant. As fans of the brands have known, iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are water-resistant, meaning the phones can still be used in the rain or after accidental drop into the water. However, they may break after spending certain period of time in the water.
So far, there’s still no official word from Apple regarding the next iPhones’ new features. But if you find this article interesting and helpful, don’t hesitate to click the share button and leave a comment..
