Let’s Laugh Day: How Much Have You Laugh Today?

“A day without laughter is a day wasted”.

The quote by Shirley MacClain above seems just right. Sometimes laughter comes out as the best medicine ever that makes other treatments and pills feels like a hollow effort. And now you can appreciate it with people from around the world on Let’s Laugh Day, March 19.

The date is to celebrate the priceless gesture that could give a lot of benefits to our body and soul. A study has proven that you can burn 10 to 40 calories/minutes when you laughing out loud. So it’s actually helps you to stay in shape effortlessly despite of tiring intense workouts! And add to that, laughter can activate your body cells to fight disease naturally.

Simple Laughter vs High Risk Disease

Based on the study conducted by University of Maryland Medical Centre (Baltimore), laughs can even protect people from serious disease such as heart problems. People who suffer heart disease proven to perform 40% less laughs compared to healthy people with no heart problems. Other serious disease, Parkinson, can also be treated by laughter to minimize the negative impacts. You can read about the methods and the other details right here.

The other interesting fact is children are proven to laugh more often than adults do. Average daily laughing frequency for kids is 300 to 400 times a day. Meanwhile, adults only perform 17.5 laughters per day (read the full story). If you pull the red strings over here, then it would be clear why adults need to go to hospital more than a kid does. Stop restraining yourself to laugh just because you’re in a public place and it appears as some ’embarrassing act’.

How to Celebrate

Laughter is like a virus. When you laugh, you can spread the vibes and unconsciously suggest people surround you to start laughing too. Need prove? Just take a look at this video taken on a train in East Anglia.

You can celebrate the day with fun activities with your friend that could tickle your humor muscles. Watch comedies, get together and tell the best jokes, or share the moments using the hashtag #LetsLaughDay on the social media.
