This is How You Start and Maintain Successful YouTube Channel

Being a YouTuber isn’t easy. It isn’t just about posting videos anytime you want, hoping for 100,000 views in 30 days, and waiting for cash to come in. If earning cash is as simple as that, people would resign from their full-time job right away.

The truth is, there are a lot of things to do to be a successful YouTuber. And if being a YouTuber is one of your dreams, you better check these tips I’ve listed below.

YouTuber Tips #1: Invest in Quality

Who would love to see a video with poor quality? Investing some money on a good camera is a wise decision.  Here are some of the most used cameras by famous YouTubers: Canon EOS 70D (used by Zoella and Aspyn Ovard), Canon Powershot G7 (used by CutiePie and Faze Rain), and Canon EOS Rebel T5i (used by Jenn Im and Laurdiy).

YouTuber Tips #2: Go All Out

No matter what your YouTube channel is about, try to be 100% serious in every video you post. Plan the content thoroughly, wrap it up in a good scenario, and make sure you come with great equipment too (such as outfits). Lele Pons is a great example of this. Lele always makes a great humor out of our common daily routines. What makes her great is, she doesn’t do it alone. She invites her friends to star the video, asks her friend to record all the scenes, and she always shows up with good makeup and outfits. That’s how she always keeps everyone entertained.

YouTuber Tips #3: Be Consistent

I know how hard it is to do this one. But sadly, this is one of the main keys to become a successful YouTuber. Audrey Bergner, a travel blogger and YouTuber, shared her personal tips to grow successful YouTube channel for beginners. She encouraged you to set a realistic goal before starting posting videos. “If you want to get into video you need to have a goal. That may be publishing 1 video a month or publishing 2 videos a week,” said the owner of “Set a goal that you know you’ll be able to accomplish, and do your best to stick to it,” she added.

Here’s where the marketing begin. Right after you hit that “publish” button, don’t forget to scroll down a little bit and hit “share.” You’ll find 13 platform options to share your videos to. That means there’s a great mass of people that would watch your video! Aside from that, collaborating with other YouTuber with similar niche is also a great move. Try to find a YouTuber that shares similar niche to you and compliment their works. After you maintain a good communication with them, ask them to make a video together. YouTuber Tips #5: “Haters Gonna Hate, Hate, Hate” – So What?

Positive and negative comments will always be there. YouTube doesn’t provide any smart filter to negative and harsh comments. The point is, don’t let it affect you too much. Don’t read them over and over again and let yourself get emotionally shaken by random gravatar that throws bad comments at you.

First, it will put you in a bad mental state. Second, you won’t focus on producing better content. Third, it’s just a complete waste of energy. My advice, see those negative comments as a free lesson you got from a bad-tempered lecturer. Some of them may speak the truth about your lacks. Read them just so you know what people think, but don’t let it control your mind.

Watch time is a super-important factor – it shows whether people just stumbled upon your video and left after several seconds or watched the greater part or the whole of it. YouTube introduced this algorithm to crack down on those who used to buy fake views to bolster the total volume of views for higher rankings.

In order to make your YouTube channel a success, you need to get to know your viewers and subscribers. This means familiarizing yourself with your “target audience” (or those who’ll be interested in watching your YouTube videos). It’s important to know what the interests of your potential viewers are.

For me before upload my first YouTube video, I need to truly understand why I’m creating a channel in the first place. Is it to make money with AdSense, or to perhaps create a future book deal? Is it to be helpful without the expectations of any financial gain? Or is it a way to indulge my hobby ?
